The Norwegian prime minister’s special envoy for energy, Andreas Eriksen, assessed in Belgrade on Nov. 17 that the goal in times of uncertainty was to secure more reliable energy sources and that cross-border cooperation in this field should be strengthened.

“Our common challenge is to secure more reliable energy sources in this time of uncertainty and we must act now to secure a good future for our peoples,” Eriksen told reporters after the regional conference "Possibilities for investing into renewable energy sources in Western Balkans," organized by the Norwegian embassies in Belgrade and Sarajevo.

He welcomed Serbia’s efforts in this regard, saying that this would contribute to the surroundings being “more resilient, stronger and more investor-friendly.” “We have a lot of hard work ahead of us, in order to carry out these plans and help in any way. We have talked a lot about various aspects, how to make this energy transition a part of a regional initiative and how to strengthen cross-border cooperation in order for energy systems to be stronger, more stable and resistant,” he added and announced that Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic would visit Norway in two weeks.
