The state of high alert in the Army of Serbia, which President Aleksandar Vucic ordered on Dec. 26 because of the situation in northern Kosovo, has been cancelled, the portal Nova.rs reported on Dec. 29.

The decision was made after an agreement was reached to start removing the roadblocks, which the Serbs in northern Kosovo set up because of the arrest of a former Kosovo police officer, Dejan Pantic.

The removing of barricades began after Pantic was moved from jail into house arrest and after the release of Nikola Nedeljkovic, who was arrested earlier at Gazimestan.
