Opposition People's Party Vice President Sanda Raskovic Ivic has said that Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic deceived both citizens and MPs when he agreed to the European proposal for the normalization of Serbia-Kosovo relations, because the paper presents Kosovo as a state in every article.

Raskovic Ivic told the March 3 issue of daily Nova that accepting that agreement seemed to her like "a mockery of common sense," i.e. like Vucic was making a fool out of all of Serbia.

"[The document] states that Serbia will recognize all documents, from diplomas, which I welcome, to passports, which I certainly do not welcome. Because a passport is a prerogative, i.e. a symbol of a state," said Raskovic Ivic.

Where accession to international institutions is concerned, she added that "Kosovo certainly won't strive to join the International Fishing Association, but rather the United Nations."

"Once you have accepted, as the head of state, one paper as a whole, implementation entails carrying out what is written. That is not a buffet," stressed the People's Party vice president and added that everything Vucic had accepted was "some sort of coup d'etat."

Raskovic Ivic added that Feb. 27, when the proposal was accepted, was a watershed moment in Serbian history.
