Serbian Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic (BETAPHOTO/MILOS MISKOV)

The European Parliament approved visa liberalization for Kosovo despite the fact that Pristina has not fulfilled a single stipulation from the Brussels Agreement, Serbian Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic said on April 19.

On occasion of the Brussels Agreement’s tenth anniversary, Dacic told Prva TV that Serbia does not disapprove of visa liberalization in general but rather that the timing of the EP’s decision gives the impression of Kosovo “being rewarded” despite not meeting its obligations, such as the formation of the Community of Serb Municipalities.

In his opinion, it seems as if “some Western countries suffer from collective amnesia.”

Asked to comment on how the negotiations with Pristina have unfolded so far, the minister stated that it has been beneficial for Serbia to participate in the process but that Belgrade does not wish to discuss Kosovo’s status.
