Socialist Party of Serbia leader Ivica Dacic criticized on May 11 a part of the opposition for, as he said, abusing two recent mass tragedies in Serbia in their political struggle and reiterated that he opposed holding snap elections.

He told Prva TV that the opposition's demands had nothing to do with the fight against violence and stressed that he was a supporter of political unity and stability. Dacic, who is also the foreign minister, said that parliamentary elections were held in April last year and that he saw no reason for holding them now.

"Will there be and how will the approach to reshuffling the Cabinet be, this was never the subject of dispute," he said.  He recalled that Serbian President and leader of the Serbian Progressive Party Aleksandar Vucic had spoken earlier about the possibility of changes in the Cabinet next year.
