Serbian Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic announced on June 30 that his Israeli counterpart will be visiting Serbia next week to discuss “a relations reset.”
“It’s important to see about resetting [our] relations, which came into question because they recognized Kosovo,” Dacic said in a morning guest appearance on Pink TV.
With regards to Kosovo, Dacic stated that Prime Minister Albin Kurti’s goal is to have the entire Serbian people declared “genocidal,” but that outside perception of Serbia has recently become more favorable.
“Serbia’s image has changed. It’s now clear to everyone in the international community who is actually making problems and the narrative where we are the bad guys – which was dominant for decades – and [the people] in Pristina are the victims, has been completely reversed,” the minister explained.
He added that the current plan for de-escalating the situation in northern Kosovo makes no mention of forming the Community of Serb Municipalities, while Belgrade is being pressured to ensure Kosovo Serbs agree to participate in new local elections, after boycotting the previous ones.
