The Movement for the Revival of the Kingdom of Serbia described on Aug. 9 the announcement by Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic and Prime Minister Ana Brnabic, about investments into the National Stadium and other similar projects, as “the authorities’ complete loss of economic compass.”
“In a country where more than half of citizens live on the verge of poverty, with deserted villages and decimated livestock funds, with a pretend industry, with grocery prices running rampant – to announce EUR12 billion worth of new loans is the sign of a complete loss of all economic logic, except that serving the marketing and election campaign purposes,” stated the president of the Movement, Vojislav Mihailovic.
In his words, two billion euros is the loan for the National Stadium and several other projects that will never return the investment. He pointed out that, at this time, these projects were pointless and would serve nothing except providing photo opportunities for the ruling coalition in the election campaign, since it has become obvious that no price the people pay for them to stay in power is too high.
