Lawyer Borivoje Borovic assessed on Aug. 10 that the helm of political power in Serbia was blackmailed and that transcripts of conversations with the criminal milieu could be revealed, as is currently taking place in Montenegro.
In an interview to television N1, commenting on the letter of 50 European and U.S. officials to the diplomatic helm of the U.S., Great Britain and EU, with a request to end the soft approach to Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, Borovic said that this could be “heralding a more serious drive” against the Serbian authorities.
He stated that he was convinced that Europol had wiretapped Serbian politicians over an extended period of time, but had so far only revealed the transcripts pertaining to the criminal group of Veljko Belivuk, after which the authorities “reluctantly” eliminated that group.
“I believe there is blackmail. Our political helm has been blackmailed and, as is currently happening in Montenegro, communications could be revealed in connection with the criminal milieu, contacts with crime groups,” Borovic said, adding that numerous scandals linked to the people from the political helm were already being revealed in great measure.
