Serbian Finance Minister Sinisa Mali stated on Aug. 16, after a meeting with the newly appointed British ambassador, Edward Ferguson, that the two countries had no unresolved issues, that economic cooperation was good, with room for more intense cooperation in the fields of energy, construction and ICT services, and that he hoped for cooperation to take place in large infrastructure projects.

Mali recollected the crediting and finance cooperation with the United Kingdom in the construction of the Morava Corridor and thanked for the support provided to Serbia via the “UK Finance” institution that rallies participants in the sector of banking and financial services, stated the Finance Ministry.

Ferguson, who assumed the duty at the end of July, congratulated Serbia on the described economic successes, pointing out that he was beginning his mandate with great ambition to strengthen the two countries’ economic cooperation. According to the statement, Great Britain and Serbia have had bilateral relations since 1837, and accomplished a record-breaking EUR788.3 million in trade last year.
