A group of opposition aldermen in the Belgrade City Assembly could soon submit another request for a session to discuss the removal of incumbent Mayor Aleksandar Sapic, representative Dobrica Veselinovic of the Green-Left Front told the Sept. 20 edition of the Danas daily.
Veselinovic explained that following the Sept. 13 session of the assembly, where the opposition clearly demanded snap local elections for the capital, the next step would be to formally request a session regarding dismissing Sapic from office.
The daily further reported that ousting Sapic is currently actively being discussed among opposition aldermen, so a motion for said session could be submitted as early as this week or the next.
