3,970 coronavirus infections were registered in Serbia in the past seven days, it was announced on the covid19.rs web-site on Oct. 12.
In that period, from Oct. 5 to 12, 19,672 persons were tested for the virus, the Serbian Ministry of Health announced on this web-site. In the previous seven days, from Sept. 28 to Oct. 5, there were 3,998 infected among 20,252 tested people.
In the seven days before that, from Sept. 22 to 28, there were 3,848 infected among 19,321 tested persons. The week before, from Sept. 14 to 21, there were 2,803 infections among the 13,297 people who were tested.
The authorities announced on Sept. 6 that the new coronavirus variant had arrived in Serbia – the sub-variant of omicron EG.5, dubbed “Eris.” The coronavirus update is published every week and the next one is due on Oct. 19.
