The parties and movements rallied around the Serbia against Violence ticket officially signed a coalition agreement ahead of Dec. 17 elections in Belgrade on Nov. 3.

Representatives of the Freedom and Justice Party, the Democratic Party, the People's Movement of Serbia, the Ecologic Uprising, the Green-Left Front, the SRCE Serbia Center party, the Together party, the Free Citizens' Movement, the Romanian Party and the New Face of Serbia movement signed the document.

At a news conference in front of Serbian parliament, the coalition's members voiced their confidence that they would win the elections. They stressed the importance of fighting crime and corruption, stopping inflation and the impoverishment of the people, restoring pensions that were slashed in 2014 to their previous level and the significance of safety, especially for children and youth. They said theirs was "a vision of a safe, stable, secure Serbia."

Freedom and Justice Party president Dragan Djilas said "a vision of Serbia in which people live decent, normal lives" had united the signatories of the coalition deal behind the Serbia against Violence idea and stressed that most Serbian citizens supported this idea. Ecologic Uprising leader Aleksandar "Cuta" Jovanovic said the people had a "simple choice" in front of them on Dec. 17: live free or "be slaves of the regime."
