Democratic Party president and Serbia against Violence ticket candidate Zoran Lutovac said on Nov. 23 that after the change of government pensions, which were cut by the incumbent authorities in 2014, would be restored.
Lutovac told BETA that returning pensions had been one of the Democratic Party's first promises in the existing parliament. "If we want rule of law then we must honor the Serbian Constitution and give back what was taken away from pensioners contrary to the Constitution. This is not a contest in populism, but the credibility of the state, rule of law and the Constitution at stake."
He said that Serbia had become a country of hungry people, and that the most vulnerable were children and pensioners.
