NATO Deputy General Secretary Mircea Geoana stated in Sarajevo on Feb. 1 that NATO remained firmly committed to cooperating with Bosnia and Herzegovina in preserving its peace and stability.
The head of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Zeljko Komsic, and the Bosniac member, Denis Becirovic, assessed that the visit of a delegation of the North Atlantic Council (NAC), headed by Deputy General Secretary Geoana, was a show of great support to Bosnia and Herzegovina and a superb opportunity for advancing its cooperation with NATO.
Geoana said the recent visit by General Secretary Jens Stoltenberg to Sarajevo proved how much attention NATO was dedicating to Bosnia, as well as to the entire Western Balkans. Geoana stressed that cooperation with NATO was a powerful incentive for reform processes in Bosnia and Herzegovina, promising that NATO would continue to provide assistance in that regard.
Komsic and Becirovic pointed out that members of NAC brought encouraging messages for all people in Bosnia and Herzegovina, i.e. that NATO was giving its full support and was committed to the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Bosnia and Herzegovina, it was stated by the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
