New Democratic Party of Serbia leader Milos Jovanovic said on March 21 that Belgrade elections need not be held unless they are fair, as well as that it was still too early to talk about how many columns the opposition should run in.

"It is too early to talk about this. The question is should one run in the elections at all and can there be an election if it is unfair. Running in elections makes sense only if the elementary conditions for holding fair elections are met - valid voter rolls and equal airtime on the public broadcasting service," Jovanovic said in an interview with the latest edition of NIN.

"Conversely, why would anyone from the opposition run in them, nor can I see any reason for holding them in such circumstances," he said.
