The Foreign Ministry of Serbia announced on March 27 that four new ambassadors had been appointed: to Hungary, Turkey and Chile and to the position of chief of Serbia’s mission in the European Union.
Aleksandra Djurovic, who used to be the ambassador and permanent representative of Serbia in the Council of Europe, is the new ambassador to Hungary.
In Turkey, the new ambassador is Aca Jovanovic, previously the Serbian ambassador to Ukraine, after having served in the Department for Consular Affairs in that embassy. Before that, he worked as the assistant minister for consular affairs at the Foreign Ministry of Serbia.
Mirjana Kotlajic, the new ambassador to Chile, has served in the general consulates in Milan and Trieste, and the embassies to the Holy See, Switzerland and Mexico. The new chief of Serbia’s mission in the European Union is Daniel Apostolovic, after having served as the assistant chief since September 2002.
