On March 28, Serbian Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic said it was “wrong” that the proposal for Kosovo’s membership in the Council of Europe (CoE) made by the Committee on Political Affairs and Democracy of the Parliamentary Assembly of the CoE (PACE) was submitted by rapporteur Dora Bakoyannis of Greece, because “Serbia has always been quite fair” toward that country.

“There hasn’t been a meeting where Greece hasn’t demanded that we respect its territorial integrity and sovereignty on land, sea and in the air. Dora Bakoyannis is not just anyone, she is a Mitsotakis, the sister of the prime minister,” Dacic stated.

Dacic reiterated that the PACE’s recommendation of Kosovo for CoE membership represents “the twilight of international law” and is directly in conflict with Serbia’s interests.

Speaking for Pink TV, the foreign minister went on to say that Serbia expected such a development in response to the Serbian Orthodox monastery of Decani finally receiving ownership of the land it was awarded by Kosovo courts seven years ago.
