A member of parliament from the Serbia Against Violence coalition and president of the New Face of Serbia party, Milos Parandilovic, stated on March 28 that Kosovo’s admission into the Council of Europe (CoE) would be the epilogue of, in his words, the catastrophic and erroneous policy of Aleksandar Vucic in solving the Kosovo issue.
Parandilovic told BETA that it was unprecedented that a part of territory of a state was being admitted into the Council of Europe, but also that the “carving up” of the state of Serbia had been going on for decades now.
“The 1974 Constitution largely determined the destiny of Kosovo. When we look at what our authorities have been doing pertaining to Kosovo and Metohija for the past half a century, we see that the current events are a logical consequence. And, during his 12 years in power alone, Vucic has done more for Kosovo’s independence than all the previous authorities combined,” he said. Parandilovic believes that Serbian president had abolished all elements of Serbia’s statehood in Kosovo and Metohija.
“Vucic has surrendered to Pristina the police, judiciary, energy, telecommunications and (granted) the dialing code and, in the north, he abolished the car license plates and surrendered the local governance to the Albanians. After 12 years of Vucic’s reign, Serbia nowadays exists in Kosovo only in our conviction that this is part of our territory,” Parandilovic assessed. In his words, Kosovo served Vucic for money laundering and trading with the international community in order to stay in power.
