Serbian Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic said on Aug. 4 that Belgrade's goal was to get the number of countries that have recognized Kosovo to under 97.

"It is our goal for this number to fall below 97, which is less than half of the U.N. because it is important to us that [Pristina's motions]... cannot pass in international organizations," Dacic told Pink TV.

Dacic described a list of 117 states that Pristina claims have recognized Kosovo as a sovereign nation as "completely smashed."

Among the 117 states are Nigeria, Uganda and Mali, which have never recognized Kosovo, Dacic maintains.

"Their list includes countries that officially state that they have suspended recognition decisions, like Egypt and Peru," Dacic said.
