New Kosovo Alliance leader Behgjet Pacolli has said that a new Kosovo government would open the way for dialogue, adding that he believed the taxes on Serbian imports would be annulled, the Kossev website conveyed reports by Pristina media.
According to Kossev, in anticipation of Oct. 6, the date of a snap general election, Kosovo's parties have already begun what the public perceives as an election campaign.
In the latest spot by outgoing Premier Ramush Haradinaj, under the slogan Through 100 Percent Taxes to Recognition, Haradinaj says that "There is no division, there is no Dodik republic, through 100 percent taxes to recognition."
Two days later, one of the leaders of a coalition comprising the New Kosovo Alliance, the Social Democratic Initiative and the Justice Party, and a former coalition partner of the former premier, Behgjet Pacolli, sent the opposite message: "The leaders of political parties should not lie that the tariffs will not be annulled."
"The leaders who say they will not abolish the tariffs are lying. It is not good to deceive the electorate. I was the foreign minister, but it was very difficult for me because I was unable to answer any question put in front of me. Simply put, I did not have any information. The policy was not coordinated," Pacolli told the RTK broadcaster.
