Dacic: Demarcation with Kosovo not official proposal, citizens will decide

Serbian Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic said that Serbia's delegation had had a number of successes at the U.N. General Assembly in New York, and that Serbia had strengthened its reputation and international position, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on Sept. 27.

"Serbian president [Aleksandar Vucic] and I had met with the representatives of 92 states and more than 20 international and regional organizations. We averaged between 25 and 30 meetings a day," Dacic said.

The minister said that "it's clear to everyone that Serbia has strengthened its reputation and international position," adding that President Vucic's speech "attracted great attention and was well-received."

Dacic also said that the president and he had hed a series of meetings, including with U.S. President Donald Trump, French President Emmanuel Macron, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and members of the U.S. administration, Matthew Palmer and Philip Reeker among others.

"One of the goals was to meet with representatives of the states that recognized Kosovo, so that they could reconsider their decision. It is with great certainty that I can say that at least five states will suspend the recognition of Kosovo's independence before the end of the year," Dacic said.
