Self-Determination Movement leader and candidate for premier of Kosovo Albin Kurti said on Oct. 14 that the Serbian Ticket "is not the Serbian community" and added that the Constitution of Kosovo "does not say" that the ticket must have its representatives in the government.

"The first most important step in the formation of the future cabinet is a coalition and agreement between the Democratic Alliance of Kosovo and Self-Determination. I am aware that if we have 12 ministries at least one minister must be from the Serbian community, but our Constitution does not say that this person must be from the Serbian Ticket because it is not the Serbian community," Kurti told Al Jazeera in a statement that was run by the Kosovo online website.

He said that relations with Serbia needed to be established according to a reciprocal principle which he said, means that "Serbia will not be able to export its goods in Kosovo, as well as many other things, as long as it is not ready for Kosovo being able to exports its goods to Serbia and [as long as it] does not care for Albanians in Serbia, in the Presevo Valley, as mostly and most likely there are more Albanians in Serbia than Serbs in Kosovo."
