Serbian Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic conveyed to his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi on Feb. 26 Serbia’s solidarity with China in this country’s fight against coronavirus and told him that Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic is ready to participate in a summit of China and the eastern and central European countries due to be held in that country on April 15 and 16.

Dacic also said he was proud to be the first foreign affairs minister to visit China in these grave circumstances, the Ministry of the Foreign Affairs has said in an announcement.

Dacic added that his visit is a confirmation of exceptional strategic relations and a friendship made of steel, but also an indicator of Serbia’s solidarity and full trust that China will contain the “demonic disease,” dubbed as such by Chinese President Xi Jinping.

Serbia is a small country but it does not leave its friends facing trouble, it shares solidarity with China and the Chinese people, the foreign minister pointed out and added that in the coming weeks Serbia will send assistance in medical equipment, which the government had already brought a decision on.
