Serbian Minister of Construction, Transportation and Infrastructure Zorana Mihajlovic said on March 11 that Serbia and France had aligned a donation contract to pave the way to the construction of Belgrade's first subway, Mihajlovic's office reported.

The minister and the French ambassador to Serbia, Jean-Louis Falconi, also discussed joint activities in air traffic infrastructure projects, a new landfill in Vinca and gender equality programs.

Minister Mihajlovic underlined that France was one of Serbia's leading partners, and that there were no open issues in running joint projects.

The ambassador said that French companies were interested in new projects in Serbia, designed to improve the position of women and gender equality, the minister's office said in a release.
