Serbian Finance Minister Sinisa Mali on April 13 invited business owners to apply for the relaxations from the Program of economic measures to curb the economic fallout of the Covid-19 epidemic, worth EUR5.1 billion.
The Serbian government adopted the legal framework for implementing the program at an April 10 session, and business owners began to apply through the Tax Administration website on April 12, Mali recalled, according to a press release from the Finance Ministry.
"Although we didn't expect business owners to begin to apply over the weekend, too, they did, so in less than 24 hours we have 15,000 business owners opening a special account and in that way applying for the measures. In just two clicks, they can delay their tax obligations and receive payments of minimum wage for their employees," Mali told business owners in Serbia.
He explained that the decree on fiscal benefits and direct aid to business entities in the private sector envisaged simple application procedures.
