The Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) Srbija's workers will be on paid leave until May 18, and it will be known until that date whether it would be prolonged or not, the FCA Independent Trade Union said to BETA on May 4.

The FCA workers have been on paid leave since March 16, and used their annual leave after Easter. According to the trade union leader, Zoran Markovic, only the security, general service and fire-fighting protection staff have been working, but "reduced hours."

There's a nurse at the factory entrance taking the temperatures of all employees, who are also given face masks and gloves.

At the same time, the Zastava Oruzje arms factory has started to work in two shifts on May 4, and more than 90 percent of workers have returned to work, the Namenska Independent Trade Union reported. The trade union has warned, however, that factory failed to provide protective gear for more than 2,000 workers.

The trade union leader, Dragan Ilic, believes that safety and protection services have failed to finalize preparations and provide everything the workers need, including disposable barriers, disinfection dispensers, protective masks and gloves.
