The Montenegrin Court of Appeals has rejected an appeal by Montenegro Airlines and confirmed a first-degree ruling by the Commercial Court for the state air carrier to pay Aerodromi Crne Gore EUR6.36m plus interest, the Podgorica Vijesti newspaper has reported.

The Court of Appeals confirmed that MA had not provided evidence of paying its debt to Aerodromi Crne Gore, which was why it had the obligation to pay the full amount of EUR6.366m, plus the legal default interest rate from April 13, 2018 until the day of payment.

During the first degree proceedings, representatives of the airline contested the claims, i.e. a portion of the calculated services on certain accounts, and claimed that they had never received invoices.

The national air carrier is also due to cover the costs of the proceedings or EUR23,549 within eight days after the ruling becomes binding.
