Serbian Minister of Mining and Energy Zorana Mihajlovic said on April 8 that it was good news that Serbia had been exempted from the European Union’s sanctions against Russia, meaning that gas deliveries via the Adriatic oil pipeline JANAF would continue after May 15, too.

“This places us in a better position that many other states in the region,” the minister said, adding that by amending an ordinance to cap the price of oil derivatives, the Government of Serbia was protecting Serbia’s market and consumers.

“A decision to restrict the price of oil to RSD170 per liter for farmers will remain in force. A 20 percent reduction on excise tax on oil derivatives will remain as well, which will also contribute to the stability of the market,” the minister explained.
