Serbian Minister of Information and Telecommunications Miihailo Jovanovic presented to participants in the Bled Strategic Forum on Aug. 28 Serbia’s results in digital transformation.
At the ministerial meeting held ahead of the official opening of the Bled Strategic Forum, Jovanovic said that the Government of Serbia, since in 2017 it set digitalization as one of its priorities, “has achieved enviable results in the digital transformation of public administration, education and economy,” the Ministry of Information and Telecommunications reported.
“We have created a favourable business setting that contributed to the exponential growth of ICT sector, which has become Serbia’s primary sector in terms of exports and a ratio in the GDP. In that way Serbia became one of the leaders of the Fourth Industrial Revolution,” Jovanovic explained.
The minister said that in 2022 the export of ICT services was a record EUR2.7 billion worth, and that in the first half of 2023 the sector exported services worth EUR1.6 billion already, reporting a 40% increase compared to the same period last year.
