Had the opposition on June 21 last year declared a boycott of the governing bodies formed after an illegal and illegitimate election, today the dialogue on equal election conditions would already be near completion, politicologist Cvijetin Milivojevic said on March 30.

Milivojevic told BETA that both the boycotting opposition and the so-called constructive opposition that took part in the election had accepted the consequences of the illegal and illegitimate election, which was why he did not believe that the dialogue between the authorities and the opposition on election conditions would be successful.

He added that one of the "most noticeable" consequences of that election was the opposition's acceptance of the speaker of the "illegitimate" parliament, Ivica Dacic, leading the dialogue on election conditions.

Milivojevic points out that the opposition made a mistake when it accepted that a European Parliament representative mediate the dialogue alongside Dacic. "That representative will be from the European People's Party group, which the Serbian Progressive Party also belongs to. It is difficult to believe that Ivica Dacic and a representative of the European People's Party will meet the Serbian opposition's demands," Milivojevic stressed.
