Branimir Nestorovic, the main candidate of the We – The Voice of the People ticket, has stated that he will not enter into any kind of alliance with the oppositional Serbian Against Violence coalition and that he will discuss with his colleagues whether or not they should offer “minority support to the Serbian Progressive Party and Socialist Party of Serbia for certain specific proposals.”

“We are in the opposition, but we aren’t in opposition to everything. Should good proposals be made in the Belgrade City Assembly, or should the National Assembly of Serbia vote on a Resolution on Kosovo that is in the interest of the [Serbian] state, of course we’ll give our support,” Nestorovic told the Dec. 20 edition of the Vecernje Novosti daily.

We – The Voice of the People co-founder Aleksandar Pavic has told the Kurir daily that the only two options the movement has with regards to Belgrade’s local government is cooperation with the Progressive’s Serbian Must Not Stop ticket or a new local election.

In the Dec. 17 snap elections, the Progressives won an absolute majority of seats in Parliament. At the local Belgrade level, however, they do not have a majority even when combined with the Socialists, their long-term allies.
