Green-Left Front Leader: We Expect an International Response to Serbia’s Election Fraud

On Jan. 4, Radomir Lazovic, the co-president of the oppositional Green-Left Front party, called on all international institutions to follow Germany’s lead and unequivocally agree that Serbia’s elections were rigged instead of “keeping mum about the small dictator growing in Serbia.”

“All international monitors sent by the OSCE and ODIHR, the Council of Europe, the European Parliament along with the domestic monitors deployed by the CRTA clearly stated that the elections were rigged. The proof [collected] is especially relevant in Belgrade, where the voting results were so skewed that the Serbian Progressive Party managed to steal the opposition’s victory,” Lazovic told the Danas daily.

According to him, recognizing that election irregularities occurred – which the international community has already done – is the first step in what needs to happen.

Lazovic went on to express his expectation that the international community will, in the next few days, take things further, adding that Serbia’s opposition will lobby via its contacts in the European Parliament and other institutions to secure international support “for a free Serbia.”
