A member of the European Parliament (EP) and EP rapporteur for Serbia, Vladimir Bilcik, on Jan. 11 said that no international investigation into the latest elections in Serbia should be expected, noting that it was on Serbian institutions to remedy possible voting irregularities.

“I am not expecting and it would be unusual to expect any international investigation in relation to the elections,” Bilcik told Voice of America (VoA).

Bilcik said it was the job of the institutions in Serbia to remedy possible irregularities during snap parliamentary and local elections, held on Dec. 17, 2023.

Bilcik added that he would like to encourage the Serbian authorities to fully cooperate with international institutions should any issue arose that may require their engagement.
