Serbian Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic said on Feb. 1 that it was disconcerting that the international community was pleading for delaying the cancellation of the dinar in Kosovo.
He told Pink TV that what always happened was the international community would ask for time for a decision of this kind to be delayed, without dealing with whether it was in accordance with any agreement. According to him, Kosovo Premier Albin Kurti constantly contrives plans that can hamper the negotiating process in the long-term
He said that, in this way, Pristina wanted to create an atmosphere showing that the life for Serbs from Kosovo was impossible and encourage Serbs to move out. "We will do everything that we can to protect the interests of our people in Kosovo," Dacic said.
Speaking on the European Parliament's resolution on Serbia, he said that without a doubt the EP would formulate a resolution with the worst possible text, but that "we must be aware" of the "reach of these resolutions" and know that they are not obligatory. Commenting on opposition announcements of a boycott of parliament, he said that the opposition was always looking for a justification of its poor results and that Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic did not win by one percent and that the margin was much larger.
