Serbian Foreign Minister Marko Djuric in Nicosia on July 30 had separate meetings with the president and foreign minister of Cyprus, focusing on economic cooperation, promotion of tourist destinations and Serbia’s EU integration.

Djuric thanked his collocutors on Cyprus’ stance on non-recognition of Kosovo’s independence, stressing Serbia’s support to territorial integrity and sovereignty of Cyprus.

Constantinos Kombos, the foreign minister of Cyprus, hailed “Belgrade’s consistent and constructive engagement in the Dialogue with Pristina, which has unfortunately not been met with reciprocity,” adding he was concerned with “halts in the negotiations and unilateral and strongly obstructive acts of Pristina.”

Kombos said Cyprus was ready to provide technical assistance to Serbia on its EU path, adding he was “encouraging Serbia in its efforts to implement the necessary reforms.”

Djuric and President of Cyprus Nikos Christodoulides agreed to coordinate activities of the two government institutions on promoting tourist destinations in both countries, according to a release from the Serbian Foreign Ministry.
