The presidents of North Macedonia and Serbia, Gordana Siljanovska Davkova and Aleksandar Vucic, will visit the church within the St. Prohor Pcinjski monastery complex together on Aug. 2 and observe the 80th anniversary of the first session of the Anti-fascist Assembly of the People’s Liberation of Macedonia (ASNOM), it has been announced in Belgrade and Skopje.
Davkova and Vucic will have talks after the visit to the church and then hold a news conference. The joint visit to the Prohor Pcinjski monastery was agreed during the two presidents’ telephone conversation on July 23.
“We have agreed to visit the Prohor Pcinjski monastery together on Ilinden (St. Elias Day), which will be an excellent opportunity for the additional strengthening of ties between our two peoples. I have used the opportunity to invite my esteemed colleague to visit Serbia, so that we could carry out some of the plans that will raise our cooperation to a higher level,” Vucic wrote in a post on Instagram on that occasion.
It has been announced in Skopje that Siljanovska Davkova and Vucic declared during the conversation that they intended to visit the Prohor Pcinjski monastery together on Ilinden, Aug. 2, and observe the 80th anniversary of the first session of ASNOM.
