Vucic Decorates Russian Diplomats to the UN for Assisting Serbia in Fighting against Resolution on Srebrenica

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic in New York on Sept. 24 awarded Order of the Serbian Flag, First Class, to Vassily Nebenzia, the permanent representative of Russia to the United Nations (UN), for helping Serbia fight against adoption of the Resolution on Srebrenica.

On Sept. 23, the deputy permanent representatives of Russia to the UN, Anna Evstigneeva and Maria Zabolotskaya, were awarded Order of the Serbian Flag, Second Class.

“I would once again like to thank you for friendly relations which we have been developing, for the assistance you provided to us here in New York regarding the debate on the Resolution on Srebrenica Genocide. I hope that we could further strengthen cooperation between our two nations and our countries to reach a level which will make all of us happy,” Vucic has posted on his Instagram.

The Serbian president is scheduled to address the 79th session of the UN General Assembly on Sept. 24.
