We Won't Give Jadar Up organization representative Zlatko Kokanovic recalled that a meeting with the opposition on an announced parliament session on lithium was scheduled to be held in Gornje Nedeljice on Oct. 4.
He added that in the event that an opposition bill on lithium was not adopted by parliament, which will convene on Oct. 7, protests against lithium mining would be radicalized to include the blocking of traffic ways..
"Our proposal to the opposition in parliament is that it must push the bill through, that is the only measure that we can accept. Nothing else, compromises, agreements or dialogue with the Rio Tinto company and the authorities are out of the question," Kokanovic told N1 TV.
He said that the opposition needed to attend protests against lithium mining and invite its members and sympathizers to attend them, adding that "only all of us together, as many of us as possible, can defeat this evil."
