The authorities need to reopen migrant reception centers because the upcoming cold weather will create a great need for accommodation of people on the main routes of passage through Serbia, Director of the Asylum Protection Center NGO Rados Djurovic said on Oct. 11.

Djurovic told BETA that according to the Center's data, "at least 200 people are located along the border with Hungary and are trying to cross it every day," and pointed out that the Hungarian authorities were sending people back on a daily basis.

Commenting on claims by Minister of European Integration Tanja Miscevic that the migrant route to Hungary had been closed, Djurovic said that the NGOs dealing with the problem on the ground could see that it was not the case.
