The Higher Public Prosecution Office in Belgrade has been investigating operations of certain non-governmental organizations (NGOs) over possible misuse of funding from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
Acting on a warrant issued by the Special Anti-Corruption Department of the Higher Public Prosecution Office in Belgrade, police entered premises of several NGOs in Belgrade on Feb. 25 to collect evidence, Serbian state public broadcaster RTS has reported.
So far, according to RTS, the targets of the police investigation include the Center for Research, Transparency and Accountability (CRTA) and Civic Initiatives.
