A petition signed by more than 300,000 Serbia’s citizens demanding from the EU to exclude Jadar Project from its list of strategic projects was handed to the EU Delegation to Serbia by the movement Get Going for Change on April 1.

Outside the EU Delegation Office, movement leader Savo Manojlovic said that the project “is a symbol of violations of democracy, environmental standards, the rule of law, and the common principles and values that underlie life in the European Union.”

“The Jadar Project is obviously slated to be selected as one of Brussels’ strategic projects, and this petition is a message that this project will not go ahead and that in our country, we will be those to make decisions,” Manojlovic said.

Later on April 1, the protesting students will also gather outside the EU Delegation Office to hand for the European Commission a letter protesting the EU intention to include the Jadar Project on its list of strategic projects.
