The students who are blocking their respective University of Belgrade faculties have announced that they will mark April 4, National Students' Day, with street protests. Students in other Serbian cities and towns will also mark the day with gatherings and various performances, whereby they will send a message of dissatisfaction with the current state of affairs in society.
The students who set off from Novi Sad on bicycles on April 3, on a 1,300-kilometers-long trip, spent the night at the Faculty of Economics in Subotica. Nine young women and 71 young men covered about 110 kilometers on the first day of the journey.
They headed from Subotica toward the Hungarian border early on April 4.
The students' goal is to draw the international public's attention to the events in Serbia.
The student cyclists are to arrive in Strasbourg on April 17 via Budapest, Vienna, Linz, Salzburg, Munich, Augsburg, Ulm, and Stuttgart.
