Speaking in Belgrade on April 12, Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik lent his support to the founding of the Movement for the People and State, initiated by Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic.

In an address during the main program of a three-day regime rally dubbed, We Will Not Give Up Serbia, Dodik said Vucic had the support of Republika Srpska. He went on to say that "magnificent Serbia has gathered to show unity and will, to build the state and keep the people safe."

"We are part of the unique Serb people and we want a strong Serbia, one that will overcome all of the problems that it faces," Dodik said, adding that "those blocking Serbia are not doing it any good, because they are undermining its economy, capacity and international importance."

In a report marked urgent, Agence France-Presse reported that Dodik, who is wanted by the judicial system of his country, appeared onstage in Belgrade at a rally organized by Vucic in response to months of anti-corruption protests in the country.
