Democratic Party
The Social Democratic Party said in a press release on June 25 that, together with the Democratic Party, it would be setting up safe zones for the Vidovdan (St Vitus' Day) protests in Belgrade on June 28.
"The participants can rest during the protest and seek needed aid in the central safe zone, which will be set up in downtown Belgrade," the press release states. The statement went on to say that university students and other citizens could go to the location on the day of the protest if their safety was threatened or they needed first aid, noting that there would be lawyers on site from their legal team to provide any urgently needed legal assistance.
The Social Democratic Party recalled that the two parties had set up a safe zone for anyone who needed rest, food, shelter or any type of assistance at the same location during the March 15 protest. On Vidovdan we are all taking to the streets to fight for freedom and justice in our country and do everything for that rally to be peaceful, in the spirit of the values we are fighting for, the party said.
