In the night of July 2, participants of the protest roadblocks throughout Serbia injured four policemen and damaged one service vehicle, the Ministry of the Interior announced on July 3. The statement added that officers requested and checked the IDs of 1,297 persons and took 79 into custody – 72 pending misdemeanor charges and seven suspected of criminal acts.

“All blockades on the territory of Serbia and Belgrade have been removed and all roadways are open to traffic,” the Ministry said.

According to the Ministry, “sporadic incidents” were recorded at a few locations, prompting officers to “act in accordance with the law.”

The Ministry further called on the public to refrain from any and all illegal activity and to not block traffic, “particularly not in ways that endanger their safety or the safety of other road users.”

Meanwhile, the blockading university students have announced that, in the night of July 2, police injured multiple students. All have sought medical attention and one sustained serious injuries.
