European union
The European Union should take a stand regarding the threats President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic has levied against those who do not share his views, the oppositional Serbia Center party stated on July 11.
“Vucic’s monstrous and terrifying threat that he could organize an attack on the homes and party offices of his political opponents in just one hour could incite a new wave of violence with unforeseeable repercussions. This Nazi-like threat is all the more serious for having been issued by the president of a state in the process of joining the EU, with obligations it assumed along with this status,” the press release reads.
Serbia Center went on to say that what is happening in Serbia, the largest country of the Western Balkans, “cannot be ignored, regardless of the current political interests and priorities of the administration in Brussels.”
