Russian President Vladimir Putin and Serbia’s Aleksandar Vucic will discuss Russian-Serbian ties, including cooperation in the energy sector, at a meeting in China, Putin’s aide Yuri Ushakov said on Aug. 30.

"The plan is for the two presidents to exchange views on key issues in Russian-Serbian cooperation, including in the field of energy and other areas," Ushakov was quoted as saying by RIA Novosti.

Putin will stay in China from Aug. 31 to Sept. 3. He will first attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organization’s summit in Tianjin and then travel to Beijing for events tied to his official visit. He will also take part in ceremonies marking the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II and hold a series of bilateral meetings.

A military parade in Beijing on Sept. 3 will be attended by the leaders of North Korea, Russia, Belarus, Iran, Cuba, Indonesia, Myanmar, Pakistan, Malaysia, and Serbia, but not by Western officials. Vucic said on Aug. 25 that he had discussed the agenda of his upcoming meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping with the Chinese ambassador to Serbia, Li Ming.
