Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) will discuss the ongoing use of force against protesters in Serbia at a plenary session in Strasbourg on Sept. 9, while a panel debate on the state of democracy in Serbia and a news conference of the European Greens focusing on the situation in Serbia will be held on the sidelines.
The plenary debate titled “Wave of violence and continuous use of force against protesters in Serbia,” will be held in attendance of representatives of the European Commission and the Council of the EU.
The debate was included in the agenda at the initiative of the Socialists and Democrats political group.
A panel discussion titled 'Serbia: Democracy at a Crossroads,” is scheduled to start at 11 am, under the auspices of three political groups in the European Parliament – the Socialists and Democrats, the Greens and Renew Europe.
