Oil company Naftna Industrija Srbije (NIS) has stated that the Pancevo Oil Refinery, with the oil stocks it has, will continue to operate until Nov. 25, the Ministry of Mining and Energy announced after a meeting of the permanent working body of the Organization for a national strategy for crisis situations in the oil sector on Oct. 31.

Participants in the meeting said, among other things, that coordination of balanced supply to all gas stations would be ensured, which is particularly important for small gas stations.

The Pancevo refinery is owned by NIS, against which the U.S. introduced sanctions in January, which came into force on Oct. 9. The sanctions were imposed due to the majority Russian stake in the company.

Before the sanctions, oil was delivered to the refinery via the Croatian pipeline JANAF, which has suspended flow to NIS since the sanctions became effective.
