Belgrade Higher Court pretrial judge Ivana Bursac – who ordered jail detention for former ministers Goran Vesic and Tomislav Momirovic, along with the other suspects in the Nov. 1, 2024 Novi Sad railway station collapse – has been transferred from the Court’s Organized Crime Department to the Department for War Crimes, the media have reported on Nov. 3.

The Nova daily also writes that judge Ana Milosevic, who repeatedly stopped illegal proceedings against students and protestors and had them released from detention, has been removed from her position as head of the Belgrade Higher Court’s Pretrial Department.

According to Nova, the Court’s president, Dragan Milosevic, removed and transferred a number of other judges whose decisions over the past months did not please the regime. These changes, along with other demotions and promotions, were announced at the institution’s Oct. 31 staff meeting, when Milosevic presented his job allocation list for 2026.
